Mehiläinen works closely with all Finnish insurance companies, and utilizing medical expense insurance as a service supplementing occupational healthcare is smooth and effortless for the client. When occupational healthcare and the health services provided through insurance are under the same service provider, the care pathway remains unified and the customer care experience seamless.
If the insurance involves service provider-specific limitations, the company should inform the insurance company of the transition of occupational healthcare to Mehiläinen and at the same time ensure that Mehiläinen is registered as the provider of health services for the insurance. For informing insurance company, you can use this template. This ensures that the use of insurance continues without interruption after the transition, and the customer’s services and care coordination remain smoothly under the same provider.

All medical record entries will continue to be available in the national MyKanta archive (omakanta.fi).
Service delivery
Mental health services included in Heltti’s occupational healthcare contracts, such as Mind care (mielenhuolto) and short-term therapy (lyhytterapia), will transfer to be delivered by Mehiläinen starting September 1st. Ongoing Mind care and therapy processes can be completed with Heltti’s familiar mental health professional.
Mindcare services will continue without interruption after the transition to Mehiläinen. The service will be provided using the familiar operating model, so the content and practices of the service will remain unchanged. Appointments can be booked easily through Mehiläinen’s booking system. Employees of companies that have enabled Mindcare services can find the service and its specialists by authenticating to Mehiläinen’s booking system.
In the future, short-term therapy provided under the Heltti agreement will be offered at Mehiläinen as short-term psychotherapy. Accessing the service begins by contacting occupational health via the Digital Clinic occupational health station, the ‘Worry about your coping’ chat, or by phone. An occupational health professional will assess the situation and refer you to the right specialist. A referral to short-term psychotherapy is always based on an assessment made by an occupational health psychologist or occupational physician. During the appointment, your situation is reviewed together, and a treatment path and support forms tailored to your needs are planned. If needed, support is also provided in selecting a suitable therapist to ensure care begins as smoothly as possible. The service is available to you when it is included in your occupational health agreement or covered by your medical expenses insurance.
Autumn 2026 influenza vaccinations will be carried out smoothly as agreed. If your company has already arranged vaccinations with Heltti, bookings and operating procedures will transfer as they are. Vaccinations can be organized both at the company’s own premises (on-site vaccinations by familiar Heltti professionals) and across Mehiläinen’s extensive medical center network throughout Finland. Further details regarding the vaccination campaign and its launch will be sent in connection with August’s transition communications.
Supervisor coaching is also included in Mehiläinen’s services, and you have access to Mehiläinen’s entire extensive expert knowledge. Together, we will build a solution tailored specifically to your organization’s needs, supporting supervisors to succeed in their work and promoting employee well-being and working capacity.
Mehiläinen also utilizes electronic health surveys. These can be launched once the data transfer has been completed.
