Most issues are resolved during the first contact remotely. When the situation requires an in-person appointment, your employee will be scheduled directly with the right expert, avoiding unnecessary visits. Appointments are conducted at our Heltti locations throughout Finland, as well as at our partners Aava and Mehiläinen medical centers.

Health Assessment – what is it?
When your employee contacts Heltti through the HelttiLine by phone or the HelttiChat in the MyHeltti service, they will immediately be connected with an experienced nurse or occupational health nurse. The nurse always has access to an on-call doctor. Nurses assess the employee’s situation comprehensively, provide guidance, and propose an individualized treatment plan or direct them to an optimized care path. If needed, the nurse also consults with other occupational health professionals and experts.
Assessment of care needs is the fastest route to the right kind of treatment. Over 40% of contacts are resolved during this initial contact – the employee easily and quickly receives the assistance they need, avoiding unnecessary visits.
What are the benefits of Heltti’s healthcare partner network?
Over 80 medical centers throughout Finland are at your disposal, in addition to Heltti’s own locations.
Work doesn’t recognize time or place these days. That’s why, in addition to Heltti’s own locations, you have access to our partners’ over 80 medical centers across Finland, such as Aava and Mehiläinen. This ensures that you receive care as quickly as possible, even outside Heltti’s regular opening hours and in locations where we don’t have our own offices.
Our collaboration with our partners is seamless: information (referrals, visit feedback, and billing) is transferred electronically between us. This allows us to provide our members with smooth service, whether the matter is handled at Heltti or with our partners.
Regardless of whether your employees deal with matters at Heltti or with our partners, we at Heltti always retain responsibility for care and managing matters related to work ability.

In urgent matters, at the latest by the next working day. However, the nurse always assesses the situation comprehensively and guides to treatment accordingly.
Yes. It is possible to come to a physical appointment whenever it is medically necessary.
Heltti’s own occupational health service units, known as Helttilä, are located in Helsinki, Espoo, Tampere, Turku, and Oulu. In addition, our partner network throughout Finland enables quick access to appointments regardless of time and place.
Appointments are always scheduled through our assessment of the need for care by calling HelttiLine or sending a message via HelttiChat.
Primary care-level healthcare includes appointments with a nurse and a general practitioner, along with examinations.
We handle many matters remotely, so there may not always be a need to come in person. When treated remotely, your employees save time and effort, and it also lowers the threshold for contacting us early in health and well-being challenges.
Primary care-level healthcare includes extensive examinations, such as laboratory tests and imaging services.
Primary care-level healthcare can be complemented with specialist services either through Heltti or through insurance.
An employer is allowed to process information related to an employee’s health, for example, to pay sick leave or to determine whether there is a justified reason for the absence from work.
Therefore, the employer may process information related to the employee’s health, such as when the employee provides a medical certificate to justify their absence from work. Only those individuals who need to process this information are allowed to handle health-related data.
It is also possible to add specialized healthcare services to the Heltti agreement. If desired, the services can be limited, for example, to a few appointments.
To cover specialized healthcare, you can also take out any medical expense insurance. In this case, we guide the employee from Heltti to specialized healthcare within the scope of the insurance.
If a member needs a specialist and it is not covered by the occupational health agreement, we can make a referral to the public sector for specialized healthcare, or the member can independently seek services from the provider of their choice at their own expense.
Heltti has offices not only in the Helsinki metropolitan area but also in Tampere, Turku, and Oulu. For those working, living, or traveling in other locations, we can utilize our partner network, which includes services from Aava and Mehiläinen.
However, if you fall ill during a work or leisure trip, it is advisable to primarily use travel insurance and seek medical care within the framework of such insurance.
For leisure-time accidents, it is advisable to primarily use personal accident insurance or travel insurance, as they comprehensively cover examinations, specialist visits, and other medical expenses. If you don’t have insurance, contact HelttiLine, and a nurse will guide you to the appropriate care based on the situation.
In the case of a work-related accident, always contact HelttiLine, where a nurse will assess the situation and guide you to the suitable care facility. In practice, it could be any nearby medical facility. A report of the work-related accident must be submitted to the insurance company within 10 days of the accident. After that, you can claim medical expenses from the insurance company following their instructions.
If the situation or seeking medical care abroad raises concerns, you can call Heltti when you fall ill, where our experienced nurses will assess the situation.
If the issue can be resolved remotely, it can be taken care of during the same phone call. If a physical visit to a doctor is necessary, it will be arranged through travel insurance at a local medical facility.
